Overview

• A call was received around 6:30 am reporting that a woman had jumped into the Yamuna from the bridge in northeast Delhi.
• Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Service teams responded quickly, secured the area and launched rescue operations.
• Fire department divers equipped with rescue gear are combing the river, and the woman is yet to be traced.
• Officers are working to identify the woman and are examining surveillance footage from on and around the bridge.
• In a separate incident at Mayur Vihar-1 metro, a 45-year-old man identified as Vikash Sharma was hospitalized after a jump, with his phone, contact list, metro card and Rs 1,370 recovered.
