Overview
- Michael Paul Brown, a 45-year-old former Army and National Guard sergeant, allegedly killed four regulars at The Owl Bar on August 1 and remains armed and dangerous.
- Investigators believe Brown ditched his white Ford F-150, stole another truck containing clothes and camping gear, and is now fully clothed and mobile in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.
- The four victims have been identified as bartender Nancy Lauretta Kelley, 64, and patrons Daniel Edwin Baillie, 59, David Allen Leach, 70, and Tony Wayne Palm, 74, shocking the close-knit Anaconda community.
- More than 250 local, state and federal officers, including U.S. Marshals, FBI and ATF agents, are using helicopters, drones, canines and infrared technology in the search.
- State Attorney General Austin Knudsen has offered a $7,500 reward, described Brown as an “unstable individual” and urged residents to call 1-877-926-8332 with any information.
