Overview

  • Search resumed Monday for a woman in her mid-20s who was swept from her Mini Countryman into floodwaters north of Cessnock after heavy overnight rain.
  • Evacuation alerts were issued for six streets in Scone as rising floodwaters threatened low-lying areas in the Hunter region.
  • Flood watches remain active for the Hunter, Peel and Namoi catchments as river levels continue rising downstream.
  • The NSW State Emergency Service has responded to over 1,455 incidents since Saturday, including flood rescues, snow-trapped vehicles and storm damage clearances.
  • Essential Energy crews are working to restore power to more than 27,500 homes and businesses affected by fallen trees and high winds across the Mid North Coast and New England.
