• Marites Buenafe, 62, is a University of Kentucky doctor described as 5 feet tall with black hair and brown eyes.
• Security footage showed her at the Mount Roberts Tramway platform at 7:30 a.m. on July 1 before she set out for the 4.1-mile Gold Ridge to Gastineau Peak trail.
• She missed the Norwegian Bliss’s 1:30 p.m. all-aboard time and was reported missing later that afternoon.
• Since July 2, Alaska State Troopers have joined Juneau Mountain Rescue, SEADOGS, Alaska Wildlife Troopers and the U.S. Coast Guard in ground, drone, K-9 and aerial searches.
• Authorities are urging all backcountry travelers to share detailed itineraries and carry alternative communication devices when planning remote hikes.
