Overview
- The nine-metre sailboat Admirante left Gandía on Thursday bound for Guardamar del Segura with a lone occupant who later reported being adrift.
- The last contact came around 22:00 on Friday when the sailor told 112 the engine and radio were inoperative and he was using an anchor to slow drift before the call cut out.
- Salvamento Marítimo and the Guardia Civil are conducting sea and air searches that now cover a wider area north and south of the route as well as farther offshore.
- Assets include a Guardia Civil patrol vessel, the Helimer 1906 helicopter and additional aircraft, plus activation of the SIVE coastal radar network.
