• Tim and Esther Keiderling were last spotted on the Katahdin Tablelands at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday after departing Abol Campground.
• Their vehicle was discovered Monday morning in the park’s day-use lot, prompting officials to request that volunteer searchers stand down.
• More than 30 game wardens have joined K-9 units and aerial teams using helicopters and infrared thermal imaging.
• The Hunt and Abol trails have been closed and the search is scheduled to continue through daylight hours.
• Park officials are asking anyone near the Katahdin summit on Sunday between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to call State Police at 207-532-5400.
