Search Intensifies for Missing U.S. Student in Dominican Republic

Authorities from multiple countries are investigating the disappearance of Sudiksha Konanki, last seen on a Punta Cana beach six days ago.

Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, went missing on March 6 while on a spring break trip with friends in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Surveillance footage shows Konanki entering the beach with a group at 4:15 a.m. and staying behind with a man, identified as Joshua Ribe, who left the area alone around 9 a.m.
Ribe has been interviewed multiple times and is considered a person of interest, though authorities have not accused him of foul play; his accounts of the night have varied slightly.
Dominican authorities, the FBI, and the U.S. Embassy are collaborating on the investigation, which includes land, sea, and aerial searches using drones, helicopters, and detection dogs.
Konanki's family has urged authorities to explore all possibilities, including kidnapping or human trafficking, as no conclusive evidence has been found to suggest she drowned.
