Overview

• The Toyota Hilux linked to Pedro Alberto Kreder, 79, and Juana Inés Morales, 69, was located Friday in remote terrain near Playa/Puerto Visser, closed with central locking and bogged down, with no trace of the couple.
• Police said the couple’s belongings were inside and the vehicle sat well off Provincial Route 1 and away from the coast, roughly 70 kilometers from Caleta Córdova.
• Specialized units are processing the vehicle as ground, aerial and coastal sweeps continue with Policía del Chubut, Policía Científica, Defensa Civil, Prefectura, Aeroclub aircraft, drones and volunteer teams.
• Investigators are weighing the possibility that the pair left on foot to seek help after the truck became stuck, though that hypothesis is not confirmed.
• Security cameras last recorded the couple leaving Caleta Córdova around 09:50 on Oct. 11, and police say they did not reach Camarones.
