Overview

  • A multi-agency operation led by the Prefecture of Lombardy now in its seventh day has deployed Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and Alpine Rescue teams across the Valchiavenna region.
  • Search efforts focus on trails above Borgonuovo di Piuro and possible paths toward Savogno, Dasile, Pianazzola, Daloo and Lagunch based on a photograph Hall sent on July 9.
  • Hall’s mother, Sara Foster, and six Quickline colleagues arrived in Chiavenna on July 15 to join friends and volunteers in combing the rugged terrain.
  • Hall’s last communication at 1.20 pm on July 9 reported he had lost the path and stopped to rest at Alpe Daloo, and his phone has been switched off since.
  • The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office remains in contact with Italian authorities and continues to offer assistance to the family.
