Overview
- Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, was last seen around 6:58 a.m. on Dec. 24 near her northwest Bexar County home, with neighbor video showing her rummaging in her car before the footage ends.
- Investigators believe she left on foot with only her car key and possibly her driver’s license, leaving her phone and vehicle at home, and she was last seen in a black and baby-blue hoodie, baby-blue pajama bottoms and white shoes.
- Federal support has ramped up with the FBI providing technical assistance and the Department of Homeland Security monitoring border crossings and international travel; the sheriff confirmed she is not in ICE custody.
- The search now includes Mexico, with Nuevo León state prosecutors issuing a missing-person notice as local volunteers, drones and cadaver and scent dogs report few physical leads after extensive neighborhood sweeps.
- Authorities have not ruled out kidnapping, human trafficking, voluntary disappearance or self-harm, and they urge residents to review security camera footage and submit tips to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
