Search for Missing Child in Northern California Uncovers Massive Illegal Marijuana Operation

Authorities discovered thousands of marijuana plants and processed cannabis during a search for a missing three-year-old girl in Butte County.

The child was found early Tuesday morning at her parents' illegal marijuana farm, under a tarp near hundreds of plants.
Parents Mayra Barajas and Jose Valenciacontreas were arrested on charges of felony child endangerment.
The search revealed approximately 6,700 pounds of processed marijuana and over 5,000 plants.
Four firearms were also found on the property, escalating the severity of the charges.
The child, exposed to cold overnight, received medical care before being placed with Children’s Services.
