Overview

• Police planned to restart operations around 9:30 a.m. Sunday with support from the Bereitschaftspolizei in Schwerin and renewed canvassing in the boy’s neighborhood in Güstrow.
• More than 100 personnel, rescue dog teams, drones and a helicopter have been deployed in the multi-agency search.
• Tracking dogs earlier followed a route to Güstrow’s central bus station, then picked up a trace at a Zehna-area stop that was lost in woodland near Groß Breesen.
• Investigators searched the father’s property and the child’s school grounds and questioned nearby residents; the parents live separately and the boy may have been traveling to his father.
• Police published a photo and physical description, urge the public not to enter forest search areas to preserve tracks, and say they do not currently suspect a criminal act.
