Search for Chile's Disappeared to Finally Move Forward Under New National Effort

Chile is launching a national search plan for hundreds of missing people from the Pinochet dictatorship.
The plan will centralize and digitize judicial case files and archives, and finance excavations.
Previous efforts were left to surviving families rather than the government.
