• Peyton Hughes, a 21-year-old Campbellsville University student, was last seen Sept. 24 while pre-fishing for the Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series.
• He failed to arrive at a planned meeting, prompting his travel partner to alert authorities, and he has not been located.
• Texas Game Wardens are leading ongoing operations with support from TPWD, Louisiana wildlife agents, local sheriff’s offices, dive teams and fire departments.
• Search teams have found his kayak on Toledo Bend Reservoir, but officials report no recovery or confirmed sighting of Hughes.
• The season-ending Bassmaster Kayak Series event is scheduled for Sept. 27–28 in Hemphill, and B.A.S.S. says it is coordinating with authorities and will share official updates.
