• Brendon Doherty, 55, disappeared after diving from Channel Island Bridge for a late-night swim with colleagues on Friday at around 9:40pm
• He was last seen mid-channel drifting toward Darwin City in strong tidal currents while wearing steel cap boots, shorts and a dark shirt
• Friends tried to guide him back to shore but lost sight of him after roughly two minutes in the water
• Emergency services launched an overnight search of the Middle Arm and shoreline and have found no trace of Doherty as of Friday night
• Authorities warn Channel Island waters are known saltwater crocodile habitat and urge anyone spotting a floating male to call Triple Zero immediately
