Seahawks Work Out Ex-Bills Fullback After Ouzts Placed on IR

The tryout signals Seattle’s effort to replace a season-ending fullback with a multiuse blocker in Brian Fleury’s offense.

Overview

  • Seattle confirmed on Aug. 11 that rookie fullback Robbie Ouzts was placed on injured reserve and will miss the 2026 season because of a neck injury.
  • The team added Brock Lampe to the roster earlier in August and continues to use Brady Russell as an internal fullback option, with Lampe already appearing in preseason snaps.
  • The Seahawks worked out Jackson Acker on Wednesday, Aug. 19 after the Buffalo Bills released the undrafted Wisconsin product on Aug. 17.
  • Acker is a versatile 242-pound player who lined up at fullback, running back and tight end at Wisconsin and offers short-yardage rushing, receiving and blocking experience.
  • Late timing gives incumbents a head start, so Seattle is using workouts and the preseason to add competition before final roster cuts and to match Fleury’s preference for multiuse fullbacks.
