Overview
- The Seahawks added Garrett Nelson to their 90-man training-camp roster and opened a spot by waiving undrafted rookie wide receiver Kyre Duplessis.
- Nelson has spent time with the Dolphins, Bengals, Saints and Broncos but has not yet appeared in a regular-season NFL game.
- He played two seasons for the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL, compiling recent game tape that includes sacks, tackles for loss and forced fumbles.
- Denver carried Nelson through multiple practice-squad stints and a reserve/futures deal before waiving him earlier this year, and Seattle is now giving him another chance to compete.
- Nelson will need to show pass-rush production in preseason snaps and value on special teams to displace depth players behind veterans DeMarcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler Jr.
