Overview
- Coach Mike McDonald said Monday the Seahawks will open Jadarian Price’s 21-day injured-reserve practice window this week, which makes him eligible to be activated in time for the Week 8 Monday night game against the Chicago Bears but does not guarantee he will play.
- Under NFL rules a player on injured reserve must miss at least four games and teams get a 21-day window to have the player practice before choosing to move him back to the 53-man roster or leave him on IR.
- Zach Charbonnet was activated from the PUP list on Oct. 22 but has not appeared in a game and the coach said the team is sticking to a measured plan for his return without committing to game action against Chicago.
- With both top backs unavailable earlier in the month, Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani have carried the load for Seattle and Wilson’s 100-yard, two-touchdown performance against Kansas City has given the team short-term production at the position.
- Price’s rookie sample included a solid 4.2 yards per carry over three games but back-to-back fumbles that led to benching, which will factor into coaching decisions about his snaps and the team’s backfield rotation if he is activated.
