Seahawks' DK Metcalf Uses ASL in Touchdown Celebrations

Metcalf's use of sign language aims to bring attention to the ASL and deaf communities

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has been learning American Sign Language (ASL) and using it to celebrate touchdowns.
Metcalf's interest in ASL began in college and he decided to take it further this summer with the goal of becoming fluent.
He has been training with Darrell Utley, a deaf sign language instructor, in weekly Zoom sessions.
Metcalf used ASL to sign 'Standing on business' after scoring a 73-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
Metcalf hopes to bring attention to the ASL community and the deaf community through his use of sign language.
