Overview

  • Seattle signed wide receiver Brenden Rice to its practice squad on Tuesday, according to reports citing NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
  • To make room, the Seahawks released cornerback Mike Reid and tight end Marshall Lang and also added returner Velus Jones Jr. to the practice squad.
  • Rice was a seventh-round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 and appeared in three games on special teams without an offensive target.
  • He briefly joined the New England Patriots’ practice squad on Nov. 4 before being released about a week later.
  • The son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, the former USC receiver posted 45 catches for 791 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023 and will compete for a possible call-up as Seattle evaluates receiver depth after injuries.
