Scripps to Sell Indianapolis ABC Affiliate WRTV to Circle City for $83 Million

Regulatory review now begins toward a sale that supports Scripps' debt-reduction strategy.

E.W. Scripps reached a definitive agreement to sell WRTV in Indianapolis to Circle City Broadcasting for $83 million.
The deal will close only after FCC and other customary approvals are secured.
Circle City, majority owned and led by DuJuan McCoy, already operates WISH (CW), WNDY (MyNetwork) and Circulus Digital Media in the market.
Scripps framed the move as part of a plan to reduce debt and strengthen the resilience of its local-station portfolio.
McCoy said acquiring the ABC affiliate will expand service for Indiana audiences and complement Circle City's local news and sports programming.
