Scout Motors Revives Classic Off-Road Brand with New Electric Vehicles

Scout Motors, originally known for its off-road vehicles in the 1960s, has been relaunched as an electric vehicle brand by Volkswagen.
The newly revealed Scout Terra truck and Traveler SUV are designed for American tastes, featuring mechanical controls and fewer software interfaces.
Both models will include unique features like bench seats and solid rear axles, combining classic design elements with modern EV technology.
Production of the Terra and Traveler is set to begin in late 2026, with a full production ramp-up expected in 2027.
Volkswagen has invested $1 billion into Scout Motors, aiming to compete in the electric off-road vehicle market against names like Rivian.
