Scottish Waste Workers Announce Eight-Day Strike in August

Coordinated industrial action by three major unions will disrupt waste collection during Edinburgh's festival season.

Unions Unison, Unite, and GMB confirmed an eight-day strike from August 14 to 22.
The strike will affect waste collection in 18 council areas, including Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The industrial action follows the rejection of a 3.2% pay rise offer by local government body Cosla.
Talks between unions, Cosla, and the Scottish Government have yet to yield an agreement.
