Overview
- Around 90,000 unpaid carers in Scotland will receive a £293.50 payment between June 18 and 19 under the Carer’s Allowance Supplement scheme.
- This payment is the first of two biannual top-ups that together amount to £587 for the year starting April 2025.
- To qualify, carers must be aged 16 or over, live in Scotland, provide at least 35 hours of care per week and hold Carer Support Payment or Carer’s Allowance on the qualifying dates.
- Recipients do not need to apply for the supplement, as payments are issued automatically to eligible carers.
- Carers who haven’t received a letter or payment by June 30 can call Social Security Scotland free on 0800 182 2222 for assistance.
