Scott McLaughlin Joins JMR Corvette Lineup for Suzuka 1000km

Replacing Jordan Love, the IndyCar driver will share JMR’s No. 2 Corvette Z06 GT3.R with Alexander Sims and Nicky Catsburg in the revived IGTC round at Suzuka.

Overview

  • Johor Motorsports Racing confirmed Scott McLaughlin will drive the No. 2 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R alongside factory drivers Alexander Sims and Nicky Catsburg in the Pro category.
  • McLaughlin takes the seat originally held by Jordan Love for the Sep. 12–14 Suzuka 1000km, marking his first major GT3 race since this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
  • JMR has expanded to a two-car entry by adding a Pro-Am No. 99 Corvette for Princes Jefri and Abu Bakar Ibrahim with Finnish driver Konsta Lappalainen.
  • The Suzuka 1000km returns to the Intercontinental GT Challenge calendar after a multi-year hiatus with an expected field of about 30 FIA GT3- and JAF GT300-compliant cars.
  • Corvette Program Manager Jessica Dane praised JMR’s step up to the Pro class and its factory-backed driver lineup as a highlight of GM’s global GT endurance programme.
