Scott Hollenbeck Named President of American Society of Plastic Surgeons

Dr. Scott Hollenbeck, chair of UVA's Department of Plastic Surgery, officially took office on September 29, 2024, during the ASPS annual meeting in San Diego.
As ASPS president, he plans to focus on ensuring access to plastic surgery services, advancing patient safety, and promoting the importance of consulting board-certified surgeons.
Hollenbeck has a strong background in both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer reconstruction.
His previous roles include steering ASPS through the COVID-19 pandemic by enhancing virtual educational opportunities.
Dr. Hollenbeck's research career includes over 125 peer-reviewed publications and several patents, with ongoing work in tissue engineering to aid post-surgery recovery.
