Overview
- Branches in Alton on August 30, Bishop’s Stortford, Huntingdon and Newmarket on September 6, and Beverley and Fleet on September 27 are scheduled to close.
- Scope has already closed 50 shops since early March following a consultation that began in January.
- With these announced dates, the total number of 2025 closures will reach 56 by late September.
- The charity says rising rents, energy and staff costs alongside a shift to online shopping have made trading harder.
- Some vacated sites and staff have been taken on by local groups including A World UK CIC and Farleigh Hospice, and Scope is still considering up to 77 closures out of 138 shops.
