Scindia Unveils Rs 646-Crore Projects in Nagaland, Joins Hornbill Stone-Pulling

The DoNER minister cast the rollout as delivery under the Act East policy with a dedicated 10% federal budget support for the Northeast.

Overview

  • He inaugurated completed works worth over Rs 202 crore and laid foundation stones for 11 new initiatives of about Rs 443 crore across power, education, roads, health and innovation.
  • Commissioned assets include a 132 kV sub-station upgrade at Dimapur, a teachers’ training and examination centre with residences, ICT infrastructure in 190 schools, and two major road upgrades including bridges.
  • New works feature a multispeciality hospital at Chümoukedima and a 50-bed hospital at Peren district headquarters, plus projects in sports facilities, an innovation hub and key corridor improvements linking Kohima and NH-29.
  • Scindia participated in the Angami stone-pulling ceremony at Tuophema during the Hornbill Festival, coupling cultural outreach with project delivery.
  • He cited Prime Minister Modi’s Act East push and a dedicated 10% share of gross budgetary support for the Northeast, noting more projects will be advanced in coordination with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
