Scindia, Meghalaya CM Lay Foundation for Sohra Tourism Circuit

Overview

• Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the Sohra project aimed at upgrading tourism infrastructure in the East Khasi Hills.
• Officials described funding as over Rs 200 crore under the PM-DevINE scheme, while a Meghalaya tourism official cited a figure of over Rs 300 crore.
• Key components include a 5-star resort in Sohra, a skywalk and tourist hub at Mawkdok, and eco-cottage clusters at Umiam and Sohra to be delivered via public–private partnerships.
