Science + Literature Awards Announce Winners

Three authors recognized for works that deepen understanding of science and technology.

The National Book Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation have announced the winners of this year's Science + Literature awards, each receiving $10,000.
The winners are poet Arthur Sze for 'The Glass Constellation', Novuyo Rosa Tshuma for the novel 'Digging Stars', and Brad Fox for the nonfiction 'The Bathysphere Book: Effects of the Luminous Ocean Depths'.
The awards recognize works that deepen readers' understanding of science and technology and highlight diversity in modern science and technology writing.
The Science + Literature awards were established in 2022 through a three-year, $525,000 grant from the Sloan foundation, which is now in its final year.
The Sloan foundation board is expected to vote in March on whether to approve funding for another three years.
