Scarlett Johansson Suggests Black Widow's Return to MCU Would Be a 'Miracle'

Amid Rumors of Original Avengers' Return, Johansson Evades Confirmation of Reprising Her Role

Scarlett Johansson, during her appearance on the Today show, was asked about the possibility of her character, Black Widow, returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), to which she responded that it would be a 'miracle'.
Johansson did not directly answer when asked if she had been approached to reprise her role, instead suggesting the possibility of a 'vampire' or 'zombie' version of her character.
Johansson's comments come amid rumors that Marvel Studios might be discussing ways to bring back the original Avengers, including characters who died, like Black Widow.
Johansson first played Black Widow in 2010's Iron Man 2 and her character died in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. However, she made a leading appearance once again in 2021's Black Widow standalone film.
In July 2021, Johansson stated that she 'has no plans to return as' Black Widow, but expressed interest in continuing to collaborate with Marvel in other ways.
