Overview
- The Toronto Transit Commission announced Thursday that the Scarborough Busway will begin service on Sept. 30 and run between Kennedy Station and Scarborough Town Centre.
- Officials say the elevated busway will cut end-to-end travel to about 15 minutes and is expected to carry roughly 118,000 riders each week, saving commuters more than an hour weekly.
- The TTC plans system testing in early September, will run eight bus routes on the corridor, and will remove the temporary bus lanes on Kennedy Road and Midland Avenue once the busway opens.
