SC Freiburg Posts €11.8 Million Surplus as Members Back New Vereinsbeirat

The club reports resilient finances despite lower revenue from a Europe-free season, which its finance chief says provide operational freedom.

Overview

  • The 2024/25 revenue totaled €162.8 million, down from €203.1 million a year earlier but the club’s highest figure for a season without European competition.
  • Annual surplus came in at €11.8 million, compared with €40.8 million in the prior year.
  • Equity rose to €163.7 million from €151.9 million, underscoring stronger balance sheet capacity.
  • CFO Oliver Leki presented the figures at the member assembly in Freiburg on October 9 and said the numbers show the club is on the right track and grant decision-making flexibility.
  • Members approved a statutes change with 87 percent support (621 votes) to create a Vereinsbeirat that merges the vacant presidency and the Ehrenrat, will initially include former Ehrenrat members plus four newly elected persons, and will focus on member and fan dialogue.
