SBU Officer Identified at Kyiv Independent Executive’s Home as Agency Rejects Targeting Claim

The security service says the visit related to a separate investigation at an address tied to a different case figure.

Overview

  • Investigative program Schemes said it identified the visitor as a 24-year-old SBU employee named Oleksandr using facial-recognition tools and phone-number tags.
  • SBU confirmed the man works for the agency and stated he was verifying the location of a suspect in another criminal case, not gathering information on Daryna Shevchenko.
  • Law enforcement sources told Schemes the individual of interest in the separate case previously owned the apartment where Shevchenko now lives.
  • Shevchenko had filed a police complaint alleging stalking after the visitor questioned neighbors and photographed doors, according to editor-in-chief Olga Rudenko’s post.
  • Rudenko said housing-office staff escorted the man into the building and reported he showed some form of ID, and the outlet awaits police clarification.
