SBS Managing Director James Taylor to Join oOh!media in Early 2026

SBS has begun recruiting a new managing director in preparation for his transition to lead oOh!media in early 2026.

  • Taylor will step down in the coming months after a 13-year tenure that spanned roles as head of corporate finance, chief financial officer and managing director.
  • He is set to succeed Cathy O’Connor as managing director and CEO of oOh!media, Australia’s leading out-of-home advertising company.
  • Acting chair Christine Zeitz praised his leadership in delivering a world-class digital transformation, rolling out an end-to-end multilingual strategy and elevating First Nations storytelling through the Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Under his stewardship, SBS reached record audiences, increased original local content and laid the groundwork for a Western Sydney expansion and exclusive coverage of the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
  • The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Taylor had three years remaining on his SBS contract when he announced his departure.
