SBI To Levy Online IMPS Fees on Transfers Above ₹25,000 From August 15

The bank says the move aligns its IMPS fees with peers by charging modest rates on high-value online transfers; corporate customers will face revised fees from September 8.

Overview

  • Online IMPS transfers up to ₹25,000 will remain free under SBI’s revised fee schedule effective August 15, 2025.
  • Transactions between ₹25,001 and ₹100,000 will incur a ₹2 plus GST charge, with fees rising to ₹6 for amounts up to ₹200,000 and ₹10 for transfers up to ₹500,000.
  • IMPS transactions initiated at branches will continue under the existing fee structure without any changes.
  • Specified salary and pension account holders such as defence, police, central government, railway package customers and Shaurya Family Pension beneficiaries are exempt from the new online fees.
  • SBI will implement the revised IMPS service charges for corporate accounts starting September 8, 2025.
