Overview
- Since early August, authorities have confirmed nine wolf attacks in several Saxony districts, including one case involving a calf.
- Through the end of July, Saxony recorded 91 livestock damage reports with 194 animals killed, 28 injured and 11 missing.
- In six of eight recently affected sheep flocks, minimum protection was in place, and some wolves have learned to jump electrified fences.
- Experts advise electric fencing with at least 4,000 volts, a flutter tape mounted about 30 centimeters above the top wire, and a minimum fence height of 105 centimeters.
