  • Union Minister Annapurna Devi inaugurated the Savitribai Phule National Institute’s new regional centre in Ranchi on July 4.
  • The facility is the institute’s sixth centre nationwide and its first hub dedicated to Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal.
  • The Ranchi centre will offer advanced training and diploma programmes in child guidance and counselling along with skill development for frontline workers.
  • By reducing reliance on distant centres in Guwahati and Lucknow, the hub is expected to streamline capacity-building and ease travel burdens for eastern states.
  • The inauguration follows the June 19 renaming of NIPCCD to the Savitribai Phule National Institute, renewing its focus on women and child welfare.
