• The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office reported that 49-year-old Georgia resident Saumen Kundu drowned at Sea Pines beach on July 24 after a rip current swept him and his son into deeper water.

• Kundu’s son survived the incident and received treatment at the scene before being released.
