Overview

  • Saudia has integrated Apple’s Share Item Location feature in the Find My app, allowing passengers to generate temporary web links to share real-time baggage locations with airline staff.
  • The feature, introduced in iOS 18.2, requires devices running iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 or macOS Sequoia 15.2 and later to track AirTag-equipped luggage.
  • Shared links are end-to-end encrypted, viewable only by authenticated airline personnel and automatically expire after seven days or when the item is recovered.
  • Integration taps Apple’s Find My network and partners with SITA’s WorldTracer system to streamline lost baggage workflows and speed up recoveries.
  • Since its December 2024 launch, support has expanded from fewer than 15 airlines to 30 global carriers, including Delta, United, American, JetBlue and now Saudia.
