Satyendar Jain Accused in ₹571-Crore Delhi CCTV Corruption Case

The Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch has filed charges against the former PWD minister for allegedly accepting a ₹7 crore bribe to waive penalties for project delays.

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has officially registered a case against Satyendar Jain under charges of corruption and criminal conspiracy.
Jain is accused of waiving ₹16 crore in penalties imposed on Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) after allegedly receiving a ₹7 crore bribe.
The investigation is based on a detailed complaint from a BEL officer, who provided evidence supporting the allegations.
The ₹571-crore project, which involved installing over 1 lakh CCTV cameras across Delhi, faced criticism for shoddy execution and non-functional cameras.
The BJP claims AAP suppressed the case while in power, while AAP leaders, including Atishi, allege political targeting by the BJP-led central government.
