SAT Cuts Paperwork for RFC, e.firma and Fiscal Certificates With Streamlined Documents

These changes aim to accelerate processing by requiring only a voter credential, USB device or fingerprint scan for four key tax services

Overview

  • Effective August 8, individuals registering for the Registro Federal de Contribuyentes need only present a valid voter credential either online or in person
  • Generation of a new e.firma now requires just a voter credential and USB device, while renewals also involve a fingerprint scan
  • Contributors can obtain the Constancia de Situación Fiscal through a simple in-office biometric fingerprint reading instead of multiple document checks
  • All four procedures can be completed via virtual appointments on the SAT portal or through traditional in-person visits to local offices
  • These reforms build on July launches of the minimal-data Cédula de Datos Fiscales and AI-driven bank-reporting oversight to streamline compliance and enhance privacy
