Saskatoon Teen Faces New Charge in School Fire Assault Case

The 14-year-old girl accused of setting a classmate on fire now faces an additional charge of unlawfully causing bodily harm.

The incident occurred on September 5 at Evan Hardy Collegiate, where a 14-year-old girl allegedly poured liquid on a 15-year-old classmate and set her on fire.
The accused already faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and arson.
A teacher who tried to extinguish the flames was also injured and is connected to the new charge.
The 15-year-old victim is currently receiving treatment for burns in an Edmonton hospital and has a long recovery ahead.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled for her next court appearance on September 26.
