Saskatchewan Health Clinics Breached, 7,200+ Patient Records Stolen

Hackers accessed sensitive health and personal data from Innomar clinics earlier this year, prompting calls for stronger protections.

Hackers breached Innomar clinics in Saskatchewan, compromising the personal and medical information of 7,293 patients across four locations.
The breach, which began in January 2024, exposed data such as names, addresses, health conditions, lab results, and medical history.
Innomar detected the breach in February but did not confirm the full scope of the stolen data until April, notifying affected patients in May.
The Saskatchewan privacy commissioner criticized delays in notifying patients and recommended extending credit monitoring services to 10 years from the two currently offered.
Innomar has implemented measures to prevent future breaches, with no evidence of ongoing unauthorized access since February.
