- The spy action sequel Sardar 2 is scheduled to open in theatres worldwide on September 10, 2026.
- The film’s trailer and soundtrack were launched at a high-profile event in Chennai, where actor Suriya unveiled the trailer and praised its polished visuals while saying the story draws on real incidents.
- Karthi stars in dual father‑and‑son roles opposite S. J. Suryah as the primary antagonist Black Dagger, supported by an ensemble cast and producers Prince Pictures and Ivy Entertainment.
- Director Mohan Raja used the same launch to confirm a new collaboration with Karthi, saying shooting is planned for December 2026 or January 2027 and describing the film’s tone as a mix of M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi and Thani Oruvan.
