• Gellar shared a throwback Buffy clip of the pair hugging on Oct. 11 and captioned it with reflections on watching Trachtenberg grow up, setting the post to “See You Again.”
• Trachtenberg was found unresponsive on Feb. 26 in her Manhattan apartment at age 39, and the New York City medical examiner later amended the cause of death to complications of diabetes mellitus after toxicology review.
• The actress initially had her cause listed as undetermined when her family objected to an autopsy, before the ruling was clarified in April.
• Gellar and Trachtenberg first met in the early 1990s on All My Children and later played sisters on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, deepening an on- and off-screen friendship.
