Despite not securing the role, Ronan described the audition experience as memorable and exciting.
Evanna Lynch was cast as Luna Lovegood, debuting in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2007.
Ronan, who was too young for the role at the time, has since been nominated for four Oscars.
She has two upcoming films, The Outrun and Blitz, with the latter set to release on November 1, 2024.
