Overview

  • Barcelona’s Festa Major de Sants runs 23–31 August with 11 decorated streets, more than 180 musical performances and over 400 activities across commissions and venues.
  • Traffic plans include closures on segments of 11 streets and changes to bus lines D20 and V5, with 80 additional cleaning staff and a dedicated punto lila for prevention of gender-based violence.
  • The selective recycling pilot for street ornaments expands from a few locations last year to all participating streets, and unitary programming includes a major concert in Parc de l’Espanya Industrial.
  • Final decoration work is being paced against an unfavorable forecast and to deter damage or theft, with some large pieces held back until Saturday morning for installation.
  • Paterna’s Fiestas Mayores feature Moros y Cristianos newly designated of Interés Turístico Autonómico, and the Cohetódromo is set for the 31 August Cordà with a giant LED screen and a special security deployment alongside centenary religious commemorations.
