Overview

• Barcelona’s Festa Major de Sants runs August 23–31, featuring more than 400 activities, over 180 musical performances and 11 decorated streets, with the pregón on Saturday by La Calòrica actors Esther López Martín and Júlia Truyol Caimari.
• Organizers are watching a possible Friday–Saturday storm that could delay the installation of delicate ornaments, prompting plans to complete major pieces at the last minute to avoid weather damage and vandalism.
• A selective collection pilot for decorative materials launched last year now extends to all participating streets, aiming to boost reuse and recycling by designing elements with separable, recyclable components.
• Street closures and service changes are planned in Sants, including traffic restrictions on decorated streets, reinforced cleaning crews, a safety information point and temporary alterations to bus lines such as D20 and V5 during processions and races.
• Ontinyent opened “La Gran” at the Museu del Tèxtil to complement its first Moros y Cristianos under International Tourist Interest status, while Paterna stages Moros y Cristianos for the first time as an Autonomic Tourist Interest festival.
