- The West Bengal Information and Cultural Affairs Department, working with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Kolkata Police, published the Devi Durga Samman 2026 results that named Santosh Mitra Square the top 'Serar Sera' winner on Friday.
- Brindaban Garden Durgapuja Samity and Chorbagan Sarbojonin Durgotsab Samity finished second and third in the overall 'Serar Sera' ranking.
- Officials assessed 23 puja committees across six categories, including best idol (Sera Protima), best pandal (Sera Mandap), best lighting (Sera Alosajja), environment-friendly (Sera Paribesh Bandhab) and social consciousness (Sera Samaj Sachetanata).
- Category winners included Mudiali Club for best idol, 25 Pally Club (Khidderpore) for best pandal, Santoshpur Avenue South for best lighting, Nalin Sarkar Street for eco-friendly practice, and Kashi Bose Lane for social awareness.
- Four special awards were also announced and the government released a score sheet to promote higher artistic standards, greener practices and community-focused programming among Kolkata’s Durga Puja committees.
